2026 SMM ZINC INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
2026 is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Against the backdrop of intensifying global macro fluctuations and the in-depth advancement of high-quality development in China, the zinc industry is undergoing profound transformation: tightness at the mine end and the release of smelting capacity have created structural tension, the differentiation of domestic and foreign inventories reflects the complex situation of supply-demand rebalancing, and technological innovation has become the key driving force for resolving contradictions and reshaping the landscape. Key areas of the 15th Five-Year Plan such as new energy and new infrastructure are injecting new impetus into traditional zinc consumption, and green low-carbon and circular economy are also accelerating the reconstruction of industrial logic driven by technological innovation.
With the joint support of upstream and downstream enterprises in the zinc industry, industry associations, and relevant parties, the 2026 SMM Zinc Industry Conference, the 8th Hot-dip Galvanizing Industry Development and Technological Innovation Forum, the 14th Zinc Salt, Zinc Oxide, and Zinc Secondary Resources Development Forum, and the Zinc-based Materials Development Forum are scheduled to be held in Qingdao, Shandong from August 6th to 8th. The conference, themed "Gather Zinc Momentum · Build Zinc Industry · Embark on a New Journey," is driven by both macro perspectives and fundamental analysis, closely following the main line of high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It focuses on four major dimensions: macro policies, supply-demand patterns, global trade, and technological innovation, using technological breakthroughs to drive cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and collaborative innovation to address market fluctuations, jointly drawing a new blueprint for the high-quality and sustainable development of the zinc industry.

The number of participants in this SMM Zinc Industry Conference was significantly higher than in previous years, and the venue remained in a state of high-density communication throughout. Core enterprises from both upstream and downstream of the industrial chain were basically all present. We connected with more than a dozen potential clients on-site, including smelting, trading, and processing enterprises. All types of supply and demand information were transparent and concentrated, and there were more matching opportunities in links such as ore, ingots, and alloys than in previous years, which was very helpful for subsequent business expansion.

The reports at the conference forum are quite substantial. From the macro environment, mine supply to downstream galvanizing and die-casting demand, the speakers have provided specific data and clear judgments. Among them, the analysis on the trend of processing fees, inventory inflection points, and overseas mine disruptions is of reference value for our production scheduling and procurement planning. The overall amount of information is moderate, and it is worth continuing to follow.
